In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family
  • Says empowerment of elected Govt must restore confidence of people in J&K

SAMBA: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today intensified campaign for the proposed assembly elections by meeting different segments of society. As per a press release, the Former Minister chaired a meeting at Dera Gandotra in Samba to discuss issues confronted by the people.

In this meeting, the Former Minister asked the people to extend their support to the Apni Party’s candidate so that the aspirations of the people can be fulfilled with equitable development, employment, and the resources can be protected for the locals.

He also educated the people about the policy and programs of the Party that would be implemented in case the Party forms the next Govt in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the Party has committed to provide 500 units of free of cost electricity to the people of Jammu during summer and in Kashmir during the winter season.

“During winter season, Jammu will get 300 units of free electricity and during summers, the Kashmir Valley will get 300 units,” he added, while elaborating that the Party would give four cooking gas cylinders under Ujjawala scheme, Rs 1 lakhs marriage assistance for the economically poor girls, enhancement of window/handicapped pension up to Rs 5000.

He said that the Party is committed to work for the welfare of the people and protect their rights. Meanwhile, he criticized the present Govt that has created circumstances which has isolated the youth and alienated the people of Jammu as well as Kashmir.

He said that the proposed assembly elections would restore the confidence of the people, but the Central Govt should restore all the rights of an elected Govt in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The empowerment of the LG J&K has given rise to anger among the people as it has weakened the elected Govt,” he said, while asking the Govt to restore the statehood with all rights to an elected Govt.
