GANDERBAL: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and transportation of minerals, J&K Police in the last five days seized 14 Vehicles, including 07 Tippers, 05 Tractors & 02 Tata Mobiles for illegal extraction of Minor Minerals across the district Ganderbal.

These vehicles were found extracting and transporting mining material without valid authorization, in violation of the prescribed norms. Accordingly, the vehicles were seized on the spot and the matter was taken up with the concerned Geology & Mining Department, which subsequently imposed the requisite fine under the relevant provisions of law.

Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining activities in the district and urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in protecting natural resources. Strict action will continue against those found indulging in such unlawful practices.
