ANANTNAG: The Department of AYUSH, Anantnag, celebrated the 9th Ayurveda Day at Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, under the theme ‘Ayurveda Innovation for Global Health.’ The , inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb, Principal of GMC Anantnag, aimed to highlight the advancements and contributions of Ayurveda in global health.
In her address, Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb expressed her strong support for further collaborations with the AYUSH Department and voiced her intention to formalize this partnership through MoU, to enhance research and healthcare delivery in Anantnag.
The event featured discussions from leading AYUSH experts, emphasizing Ayurveda’s growing relevance in modern healthcare. They highlighted how Ayurvedic treatments can complement contemporary medical practices, offering potential benefits for a range of health conditions. Speakers advocated for the integration of Ayurveda in treating certain ailments alongside conventional medical treatments.
A series of presentations followed, including Dr. Shaheen Ahmad Mir, Senior Medical Officer (MO) delivered an in-depth lecture on the history and daily applications of Ayurveda, Dr. Mansoor, Head of Psychiatry at GMC Anantnag discussed mental health issues and Ayurvedic approaches to mental wellness, Dr. Shazia, Medical Officer, AYUSH presented insights on Panchakarma, a vital Ayurvedic therapeutic practice.
In recognition of their commitment, Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to several Medical Officers. The seminar underscored the potential of Ayurveda to advance holistic health solutions, demonstrating the Department of AYUSH’s dedication to promoting Ayurveda's role in healthcare and community well-being.
