DODA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Harvinder Singh, chaired a high-level meeting to review Narco Coordination (NCORD), security, law & order, and road safety in the district. Senior officials, including SSP Doda Sandeep Kumar Mehta, ADC, SDMs, and officers from multiple departments, participated, along with Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials joining virtually.
The DC directed law enforcement agencies to intensify anti-narcotics operations, enhance surveillance, and dismantle illegal drug networks. He also stressed the importance of public awareness campaigns and rehabilitation programmes under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
To strengthen security, the "No Drone Fly Zone" order will be strictly enforced, while urban areas will see enhanced CCTV surveillance. Officials were also directed to increase patrolling in sensitive areas and improve intelligence-sharing mechanisms.
In road safety measures, NHIDCL and BRO were instructed to install crash barriers, regulate heavy vehicle movement, and prevent illegal roadside construction. Car workshops have been warned against using public roads for servicing. The DC directed all departments to submit action plans for better enforcement and stressed inter-departmental collaboration to achieve a drug-free and safer Doda.
