JAMMU: On the occasion of International Women’s Day-2025, the Department of Psychology, Government College for Women, Parade in collaboration with the Center for Women’s Studies, University of Jammu successfully organized a workshop on “Women Empowerment: Social, Psychological and Legal perspective”.
The event aimed to highlight the importance of women issues and development of gender sensitive perspective among the students by highlighting the needs for women’s empowerment through socio psychological and legal awareness. The workshop was graced by Dr. Savita Nayyar, Director Center for Women Studies, University of Jammu who delivered an insightful PowerPoint presentation, emphasizing the role of education and awareness in fostering women’s empowerment.
Among the distinguished faculty members present were Dr. Probhjot Kour, Head, Department of Psychology, Dr. Saranjeet Kour and Kunzang Angmo, Faculty CWS, Dr. Manju, Prof. Nisha faculty, Department of Psychology along with other esteemed academicians and participants. The workshop featured interactive discussions, case studies, and engaging sessions, encouraging participants to actively reflect on challenges faced by women and the need for collective action.
