SHOPIAN: The Drug Control Department, in coordination with officials from the Revenue and Police Departments, conducted extensive inspections of medical establishments in Herman, Shopian, to ensure compliance with drug regulatory norms. During the inspection, the records of Schedule H and H1 drugs were thoroughly scrutinized on the spot.
It was observed that all the checked firms had adopted a computerized billing system, ensuring transparency in sales and inventory management. However, two firms were served on-spot notices for violations of certain license conditions, and they have been directed to take corrective measures immediately.
Additionally, nine drug samples were lifted during the drive to ascertain the quality and efficacy of medicines being supplied to the public. The collected samples will undergo rigorous testing at designated laboratories to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Also Pharmacists and drug retailers were urged to adhere strictly to prescribed guidelines, maintain proper records, and cooperate with enforcement agencies to prevent any misuse of drugs.
