SRINAGAR: As part of celebrations for ‘International year of Cooperatives’, a workshop/awareness camp for members of Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) was organized today at JK State Cooperative Bank Headquarters, Rajbagh. The event organized by the Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Srinagar witnessed participation from the officials of Cooperative department, besides the event also saw involvement from officers of allied departments including horticulture, fisheries, NABARD etc.
During the course of the event, officers from allied departments gave a detailed account of various schemes, initiatives, subsidies and grants offered by their respective departments to members of cooperative societies. They also encouraged the members to come forward and get enrolled in various skill development camps to improve their economic status.
The members took note of the various schemes and also raised queries regarding registration for these schemes and other issues. The workshop ended with a resolution to improve coordination among allied departments for effective implementation of schemes and initiatives.
