ANANTNAG: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, conducted inspection of OPD and IPD sections of Maternity and Child Care Hospital (MCCH) here today, currently functioning from newly constructed block of Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag. During the inspection, the Minister took stock of the facilities being provided for the newly born babies and children. She interacted with the doctors, staff and attendants and took appraisal from them about the facilities available.
While speaking on the occasion, Sakeena highlighted the governmentâs commitment towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir. She said that the construction on newly announced 250-bed Maternity and Child Care Hospital will commence soon. âThis new facility will significantly boost the Pediatric healthcare services in South Kashmir, ensuring better treatment and care for our childrenâ, she stated.
The Minister said that due to the congestion at MCCH Sherbagh, we have shifted some sections of the hospital to this building, adding that in coming days more facilities will be developed here for the ease of patients. MLA Anantnag-West, Abdul Majeed Bhat (Larmi); MLA Shangus-Anantnag-East, Reyaz Ahmad Khan; Principal GMC Anantnag, Medical Superintendents and other concerned officers accompanied the Minister during the visit.
