KATHUA: In an effort to combat drug abuse and promote Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the Social Welfare Department, Kathua organized a walkathon here today. The Walkathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 150 individuals, including social activists, students, and local residents, who came together to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.
The event began at 6:30 AM from the District Library and culminated at Mukherjee Chowk. Participants carried banners and placards displaying messages on the harmful effects of drug addiction and the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices. The primary objective of the initiative was to educate people about the risks associated with substance abuse while encouraging them to adopt positive habits.
To further spread the message, the Social Welfare Department distributed refreshments and Nasha Mukt Bharat T-shirts to participants, symbolizing their commitment to the cause. The overwhelming response from the community demonstrated a collective determination to work towards a drug-free Kathua.
