JAMMU: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Central University of Jammu, in association with IIC cell of Central University of Jammu has successfully hosted an Internal Hackathon to select the innovative ideas to take part in Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024. The event was held in the Conference Room on the Ground Floor of the Satish Dhawan Centre for Space Sciences. During the event, eight teams have been selected and recommended for Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024.
The evaluation panel consisted of distinguished professors and experts from the department. The event was headed by Prof. Rakesh Kumar Jha, (HoD, DOECE). Internal hackathon organizing committee is also heartily thankful to Dr. Sachin Gupta, Dr. Sanjeev Yadav, Dr. Sunil Datt Sharma, Dr. Misbah Shafi, Dr. Harneet Kour, Dr. Pravesh Pal, Dr. Rajeev Malik, and Dr. Priyank Sharma for evaluation of innovative ideas presented by the students.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sunil Datt Sharma along with other faculty members of the department under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Jha. The student coordinators, Mr. Mrigank Jaiswal (ECE, Semester III) and Mr. Kritish Nagyal (ECE Avionics, Semester III), played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of the hackathon.
All the experts carefully assessed the presentations, focusing on criteria such as innovation, feasibility, technical depth, and potential impact. They also interacted with the teams, offering insights and suggestions to further refine their ideas.
Lastly, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Jha, HoD, remarked that, "The Internal Hackathon for SIH 2024 has given our students an excellent opportunity to challenge themselves and think outside the box. It is heartening to see such enthusiasm and talent among the first and second-year students. Events like these are vital in nurturing a problem-solving mindset and preparing them for larger platforms like SIHâ.
