KISHTWAR: The 5-day Training Programme on Natural Farming for Krishi Sakhis, organized by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kishtwar (KVK) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture successfully concluded today at the Conference Hall, New DC Office Complex. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan was the chief guest at the valedictory function. He commended the collaborative efforts made by KVK and Agriculture department for organizing the training aimed at capacity building for Krishi Sakhis.
The primary objective of the training was to equip the Krishi Sakhis with the knowledge and skills necessary for the proper implementation of Natural Farming practices at the grassroots level. The programme was designed to strengthen the role of Krishi Sakhis as para extension workers, who will further disseminate the knowledge within their respective clusters. A total of 31 Krishi Sakhis from 18 clusters of the Kishtwar district participated in the training.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Narinder Paul, Scientist and Incharge, KVK Kishtwar. He provided an overview of the training and highlighted the significant role of Krishi Sakhis in the upcoming National Mission on Natural Farming, which will be implemented across the district. The training programme concluded with the distribution of certificates by the DC to the Krishi Sakhis for the successful completion of the 5-day training. District Agriculture Officer, Khalid Bashir Zargar; District Coordinator, JKRLM, Ishaq Ahmad Dar; SDAO Marwah, Manzoor Ahmad Zargar; as well as the staff of KVK and the Agriculture Department, were also present on the occasion.
