BANDIPORA: The Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Bandipora, Ab Gani Bhat on Saturday chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora to assess the progress of various developmental schemes in the district. The meeting was held in the presence of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, along with other key officials and public representatives.
During the meeting, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt, who is Chief Executive Officer of the District Development Council, provided a detailed briefing on the physical and financial status of both ongoing and new projects across the district.
He informed the council that the District CAPEX budget for the year 2024-25 is set at Rs. 6800.64 lakhs and Projects have been identified under this budget for key sectors, including rural infrastructure, electrification, drinking water supply, and improvements in educational institutions, all aimed at enhancing public welfare and community development.
The Vice Chairperson DDC, Kousar Shafeeq along with other council members, raised important public concerns and emphasized the need for timely completion of pending projects. They stressed the importance of close collaboration between departments to ensure the smooth execution of development initiatives.
In his remarks, DDC Chairman underscored the need for strong coordination between departments and public representatives to maximize benefits for the people of Bandipora. He highlighted the council's commitment to accelerating development and addressing pressing public needs besides stressed the significance of involving public representatives in the planning and monitoring of projects.
Deputy Commissioner also addressed the gathering, urging all concerned departments to expedite the allotment process for tendered works and to address any potential bottlenecks promptly to ensure the timely completion of all projects. The meeting was attended by DDC Members, district officers from various departments, and other stakeholders.
