BARAMULLA: Department of Social Welfare, Baramulla, today organized a Family-Based Alternative Care awareness program under Mission Vatsalya and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao at Dak Bungalow Baramulla. The event focused on promoting child welfare, gender equality, and girls' empowerment while raising awareness about the One Stop Centre services and the Child Helpline (1098).
Speaking at the event, the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) emphasized the need for creating equal opportunities for children and girls. He highlighted the department's commitment to implementing welfare initiatives that promote education, health, and overall well-being. Chairman Child Welfare Committee Baramulla stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in ensuring child safety and welfare. He commended the department for its proactive measures in empowering girls and children.
Center Administrator of the One Stop Center Baramulla, elaborated on the center's services for women and children in distress and underscored the role of community involvement in increasing accessibility to these services. Distribution Coordinator, BBBP, facilitated the distribution of Sports Kits and Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines to Government Degree Colleges and Government Girls Higher Secondary Schools. Additionally, School Bags and Lunch Box Kits were distributed to girl students, encouraging education and supporting their well-being. The event witnessed active participation from students, educators, and officials, reaffirming the district's commitment to child welfare and gender equality.
