JAMMU: The Central University of Jammu started a cleanliness campaign around the classrooms as a part of the SCDPM (4.0). The event was heartily supported by the University community especially with the encouragement of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain. He appreciated the efforts of the organizers for having achieved the initiative at the right time of need.
The cleanliness drive was organized under the able guidance of Sh.Vikas Gupta, Assistant Registrar (Academics & Estates). On the occasion, Nodal Officer, Prof. Richa Kothari said that cleanliness is the key factor wherever learning as well as teaching takes place. This drive started early in the morning with the participation of students, teachers, and administrative staff who volunteered to pick up litter, waste and other types of debris around the classes.
They picked litter and wiped surfaces. The drive also involved educating the general community whereby volunteers involved fellow students in conversations regarding reasons for cleanliness, segregation of wastes and sustainability. This cleanliness drive was well infused with the concept of the SCDPM (4.0) initiative which is in alliance with the broader goals of the University to inculcate sustainable practices.
