JAMMU: A beautiful and heartwarming interaction was held at the Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Ambphalla, Jammu, with the visit of Delhi Public School, Jammu, whose staff and students spent meaningful time with the residents and filled the Ashram with warmth, joy and youthful energy.
The visit was marked by a delightful cultural programme presented by the students, creating an atmosphere of happiness, celebration and togetherness. Their performances, enthusiasm and heartfelt interaction with the elderly residents touched the hearts of everyone present and transformed the occasion into a memorable experience of intergenerational bonding, love and companionship.
A total of 36 students participated in the programme, accompanied by school staff members Ms. Pankaj Manhas, Ms. Priya, Mr. Reagon Moman and Mr. Damel Sidhu, along with helping staff Mr. Arjun and Ms. Sashi.
A particularly special and touching moment was the virtual interaction with Kuwrani Ritu Singh, Founder & PVC, DPS Jammu. Though she could not be physically present at the Ashram, she joined the gathering through a video call, warmly addressed the inmates and conveyed her heartfelt greetings and good wishes to them. She also interacted with and motivated the students, encouraging them to continue embracing the values of compassion, respect, empathy and service to society. Her thoughtful presence through the virtual medium added a special emotional dimension to the occasion.
The students interacted warmly with the residents, sharing smiles, conversations and moments of affection. Their cultural performances brought immense happiness to the inmates, who responded with great enthusiasm, blessings and appreciation. The interaction beautifully reflected the importance of bringing younger and older generations together and creating spaces where both can learn from, understand and cherish one another.
Representing the Home for the Aged & Infirm, Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary, along with Dr. B.B. Sharma, Medical Officer, Managing Committee members Sh. Satpal Sharma and Smt. Sudha Gupta, welcomed the visiting team and expressed their sincere appreciation for the school's thoughtful initiative.
Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary on behalf of Ashram conveyed their gratitude to the principal, staff, helping staff and students of Delhi Public School, Jammu, as well as to Kuwrani Ritu Singhfor making the occasion so meaningful. He said that such visits go far beyond cultural programmes—they provide senior citizens with companionship, affection and a sense of connection with the wider community.

For the residents of Vridh Ashram, the presence of the young students brought back cherished memories and created new ones, while for the students, the visit offered an opportunity to experience the warmth, wisdom and affection of the elderly.
