SRINAGAR: The NSS Units of Government Degree College (GDC), Ganderbal, organised “KHELO INDIA SAMVAD – Khel Ki Baat, PM Ke Saath”, a youth interaction programme, on Thursday under the aegis of MYBharat and the NSS, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The programme commenced with the National Anthem, followed by a welcome address, NSS pledge and a virtual introduction of MYBharat volunteers. The highlight of the event was a virtual interaction with the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
The programme also featured the screening of a Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) video, MYBharat registration, the VBYLD Idea Box Quiz and an interactive question-and-answer session with the moderator and sports personalities.
Around 150 students, NSS volunteers, faculty members and officials participated in the event. Distinguished participants included Ms Afreen, sportsperson; Ms Saima Jan, sports coach; Dr Jamsheeda Akhter, MYBharat Nodal Officer and NSS Programme Officer; Dr Mansha, NSS Programme Officer; Dr Ravinder Kour, Sports Director; and Mr Wasil Ayoub, Guest of Honour representing the MYBharat team.
Dr Rafiq Ahmad, Senior Professor, addressed the gathering, while Ms Hadika moderated the interactive session. The programme was coordinated by Dr Jamsheeda Akhter and Dr Mansha Nisar.
The event concluded with the NSS Coordinator’s address, remarks by the Principal, felicitation of participants, the Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem. The active participation of students, NSS volunteers, faculty members and officials reflected the enthusiasm of the college community towards sports, youth engagement and nation-building initiatives.
