BANDIPORA: As part of the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the District Administration Bandipora, in collaboration with HSS Sumbal, organised a Dosti Discussion at Sumbal to engage students in an open and friendly dialogue on preventing drug abuse and strengthening communication among students, parents and teachers.
Deputy District Election Officer Bandipora, Er. Hilal Ahmad Bhat, attended the programme as the chief guest, while Dr. G. M. Puju, Deputy Chief Education Officer Bandipora, was the guest of honour.
The discussion provided students an opportunity to interact directly with officers from the District Administration in a cordial and informal setting. On the occasion, the speakers highlighted the importance of parental guidance, positive peer relationships, open communication and community participation in preventing substance abuse and promoting a healthy environment for young people.
The speakers encouraged students to make informed choices, stay connected with their families and seek guidance whenever faced with challenges or peer pressure. The importance of constructive activities, responsible use of time and supportive friendships was also emphasised to help young people stay away from substance abuse and build a positive future.
The programme concluded with a collective resolve by all stakeholders to contribute towards a safe, healthy and addiction-free society. Students and participants appreciated the Dosti Discussion initiative, noting that its informal and interactive format provided young minds a comfortable space to express their views and engage in meaningful conversation on issues affecting their lives and communities.
