BANDIPORA: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Refresher training sessions on Digital Crop Survey (DCS)–Kharif 2026 were conducted across Bandipora district for Supervisors, Surveyors and VLEs to strengthen field-level implementation and ensure accurate crop data collection.
The sessions were conducted at Conference Hall DC Office Bandipora, SDM Office Sumbal and SDM Office Gurez, covering Bandipora, Aloosa, Ajas; Hajin and Sumbal; and Gurez and Tulail respectively.
At the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Bandipora, the session was presided over by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Bandipora, Shabir Ahmad Wani, who reviewed the training proceedings and emphasised effective implementation of the Digital Crop Survey-Kharif 2026. The training was impacted by designated Master Trainers from the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments, with concerned Tehsildars monitoring the sessions.
During the training, participants were familiarised with the DCS mobile application, including survey assignment and task management, Master Data and geo-referenced maps, GPS-based plot navigation, RoR information, and procedures for recording agricultural, non-agricultural, fallow, waste, vacant and harvested land.
Special focus was laid on the newly incorporated AI-enabled features of the DCS application, including Aadhaar-based Face Authentication for verifying the identity and on-ground presence of surveyors, Angle-based Sector Coverage System (ASCS) for ensuring survey execution within the designated plot, and detection of incorrect survey photographs.
The training also emphasised accurate identification and recording of crops and their categories, including perennial, biennial and seasonal crops, along with crop variety, crop status, area and irrigation details.
Similarly, refresher training on Digital Crop Survey (DCS)–Kharif 2026 was imparted at SDM Office Sumbal and SDM Office Gurez to Supervisors, Surveyors and VLEs by designated Master Trainers from the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments covering the use of the DCS mobile application, survey assignment and task management, geo-referenced maps, GPS-based plot navigation, RoR information, crop identification and recording, along with the newly incorporated AI-enabled features.
The sessions aimed to enhance the capacity of field functionaries, minimise errors in crop booking and ensure reliable, spatially accurate and authentic Digital Crop Survey data for Kharif 2026.
