KATRA: The NSS Unit of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organized a Book Review Session aimed at promoting reading habits among students and highlighting the importance of language and effective communication. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who shared their views and brief reviews of their favourite books and stories.The session provided students with an opportunity to enhance their reading and communication skills.

It emphasized how regular reading helps develop critical thinking, enrich vocabulary, build confidence, and improve the ability to express ideas effectively before an audience. Through their presentations and discussions, students demonstrated the richness, relevance, and beauty of language in contemporary education.NSS volunteer Pratibha Singh coordinated the event along with other volunteers.

NSS Programme Coordinator Dr. Rajiv Kumar also participated in the session, shared his insightful thoughts, and emphasized the importance of organizing more such activities regularly to encourage students to develop a strong and lasting connection with reading.The NSS Unit plans to organize more literary and reading-oriented activities in the future to further nurture students’ reading, communication, and creative expression skills.
