POONCH: PM SHRI Girls High School Degwar hosted a symposium on the theme “Swachhata Hi Seva.” Organised to mark Swachhata Pakhwada, the event aimed to generate awareness among students about cleanliness, hygiene and their responsibilities towards building a cleaner and healthier society.
As many as 14 students from different classes participated enthusiastically in the symposium and shared their views on the importance of cleanliness and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The students highlighted the significance of cleanliness in daily life and emphasised the important role that students can play in making the campaign a people's movement.
The programme was presided over by Headmaster of the School Chandermohan Jaggi. SNO Swachhata Pakhwada Darshan Kumar elaborated on the objectives of the campaign and highlighted the various initiatives being undertaken by PM SHRI schools to promote cleanliness, hygiene, environmental responsibility and community participation.
The students and staff took the Swachhata Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and motivating others to adopt responsible sanitation practices. Suranshi Sharma secured the first position, while Toiba Tabasum and Rafia Kouser secured the second position. Shahid Iqbal and Misba Sajad shared the third position.
The jury comprised Seema Sharma, Poonam Sharma and Neetu Sharma, who assessed the participants on the basis of content, presentation, clarity of ideas and overall performance.
