BARAMULLA: In continuation of its sustained drive against the menace of narcotics under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, police in Baramulla conducted a comprehensive Wild Cannabis (Bhang) Destruction Drive at Bangdara Kreeri, Raipora Palhallan and Batawari Goshbugh.

The drive at Raipora Palhallan was carried out in collaboration with the Welfare Society Palhallan, reflecting the growing partnership between Police and the community in combating drug abuse. During the operation, wild cannabis spread over approximately 1.5 kanals of State land was identified, uprooted and destroyed on the spot. Similar destruction drives were simultaneously carried out at Bangdara Kreeri and Batawari Goshbugh, where all identified wild cannabis plants were eradicated.

The campaign forms part of the proactive strategy of Baramulla Police to eliminate narcotic substances at their source, prevent their misuse, and strengthen public awareness regarding the harmful consequences of drug abuse. The drives were conducted peacefully with active cooperation from members of the local community and civil society.

Police remains steadfast in its commitment to realizing the vision of a Drug-Free Baramulla. The general public is once again urged to extend full cooperation by reporting any instances of illegal cultivation or growth of cannabis and other narcotic plants so that timely legal action can be taken.
