JAMMU:The Indian Institute of Management Jammu inaugurated the 19th Batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program (NFLP) under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP), Ministry of Education, Government of India, at the Vedanta MDP Block on 25th May 2026. The five-day residential training programme,coordinated by the Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C), IIM Jammu, has brought together 12 participants from institutions across India, creating a vibrant platform for collaborative learning, leadership development, and institutional excellence.The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of Prof. (Brigadier) Neeraj Soni(Retd.), Chairperson, Student Affairs, IIM Jammu; Dr. Eshika Aggarwal; and Dr. Bijoy Rakshit, Program Directors, IIM Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Brigadier) Neeraj Soni (Retd.), Chairperson, Student Affairs,appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants in choosing the programme. He highlighted that the Nurturing Future Leadership Program would offer valuable insights at both micro and macro levels and encouraged participants to maximize their learning experience. Emphasizing IIM Jammu’s academic excellence, international accreditations, and the role of Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C), he underscored the importance of the knowledge economy in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Drawing from his experience at IIM Indore, he reflected on the transformative role of mentorship and programme leadership in professional growth. Advocating co-created learning and the spirit of the Indian Knowledge System, he urged participants to contribute meaningfully towards strengthening the nation’s higher education ecosystem and thanked them for being part of this transformative journey.
Welcoming the participants, Dr. Bijoy Rakshit, Program Director,reflected on his experience as a participant at IIT Madras and emphasized the evolving role of educators beyond teaching, research, and administration towards meaningful institution building. Highlighting IIM Jammu’s continued commitment to academic leadership through the 19th edition of NFLP, he provided an overview of the programme, underscoring the importance of peer learning, collaboration, and shared experiences in generating valuable insights and outcomes. The inaugural session also featured participant introductions and sharing of expectations, setting the stage for an engaging and enriching five-day learning journey.
The inaugural ceremony culminated with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Eshika Aggarwal, Program Director, who expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Institute, the Dean, Faculty & Research, the Chairperson, Executive Education &Consultancy, Executive Education and Consultancy Team and all other supporting functionariesalong with all the participants for their valuable presence and support in making the inaugural session meaningful and impactful. This was followed by National Song and National Anthem
The Nurturing Future Leadership Program (NFLP) – Batch 19, scheduled from 25th to 29th May 2026, is designed to equip faculty members and academic professionals with leadership competencies, institutional perspectives, and transformative insights essential for navigating the evolving higher education landscape. Through such initiatives, IIM Jammu continues to strengthen its commitment to fostering academic leadership, institutional excellence, and capacity building in alignment with the vision of a knowledge-driven and Viksit Bharat.
