UTTARAKHAND: In a great achievement of J&K Sports Council and J&K Gymnastics Association, J&K has performed excellently in the ongoing 38th National Games as the UT players have so far won four medals in different categories.
J&K got silver medal in the team championship (Muskan Rana, Vaibhavi Sharma, Manya & Jagriti Thakur). Muskan was adjudged the all-round champion. In the Ball event, Muskan & Manya got silver and bronze medals, respectively, while Kimaya of Maharashtra won the goild.
Till date, J&K has won four medals in different categories. On the occasion, J&K Gymnastics Association president and head of delegation of contingent for 38th national games of J&K Sports Council Kiran Wattal gave away the prizes to the UT’s national medalists. It was a great honour for Wattal.
In a very short span of time, the J&K Gymnastics Association, in association with J&K Sports Council, has produced national& International players in the UT.Wattal (CDM), who is alsovice-president of Gymnastics Federation of India, was all praise for the J&K medalists.
In his address, Wattal gave special thanks to LG Manoj Sinha for promoting sports activities in J&K. He also said that this could become possible with the support of J&K administration under the able guidance of LG Sinha.He made a special mention of J&K Sports Council secretary Nuzhat Gul for her exceptional contribution to sports development in the UT.
