REASI: In a remarkable demonstration of civic responsibility and community service, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Government Degree College, Dharmari successfully organized a ‘Swachhta & Anti-Drug Pledge’ and ‘Cannabis Destruction Campaign’. This initiative was a significant step towards promoting cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and drug-free society.
The event commenced with a solemn ‘Swachhta & Anti-Drug Pledge’, where students, staff, and volunteers collectively vowed to uphold cleanliness, hygiene in their surroundings and to promote Awareness about drug free society. The pledge emphasized the importance of maintaining public spaces, spreading awareness about the adverse effects of pollution, and encouraging others to adopt eco-friendly practices.
Following the pledge, the NSS volunteers actively participated in a ‘Cannabis Destruction Campaign’, aimed at eradicating the illegal growth of cannabis in the adjoining areas of the college. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Ajay Kumar, the Program Officer of the NSS Unit, expressed the importance of such campaigns in creating awareness among the youth about the dangers of drug abuse and the significance of a clean environment.
The Program was organized under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Mazammal Hussain, Principal of the College and under the supervision of NSS Programme officer Prof. Ajay Kumar who remarked in the end that the success of the event underscores the commitment of the NSS Unit towards building a healthier and more responsible society.
The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the unit’s dedication to continue such initiatives in the future, with the aim of fostering a cleaner, greener, and drug-free nation. All other faculty members were also participated in the event.
