SAMBA: An informative and impactful Open Forum on "Nasha Mukti" (drug de-addiction) was organized by the NCORD (National Campaign Against Drug Abuse) Cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA). The event was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Principal of the college Dr. Geetanjali Andotra.
The forum aimed to raise awareness about the serious consequences of drug abuse and provide students with a deeper understanding of how to prevent it. To ensure focused discussions, separate groups were formed for boys and girls. The forum offered students a platform to share their thoughts on the issue, discuss various preventive strategies, and understand the long-term consequences of drug addiction.
During the group discussions, students actively participated and expressed their thoughts on the increasing prevalence of drug abuse among youth and how to combat the growing concern. The discussions highlighted the alarming impact of drugs on health and well-being and also the importance of education, personal responsibility, and community support in combating addiction.
The event received overwhelming positive feedback from students, who found it informative and engaging. The interactive nature of the discussions helped increase students' understanding of the issue and motivated them to contribute towards a drug-free community. NCORD convener, Prof. Brham Dutt, oversaw the entire event and participated in the group discussions, engaging with many students and sharing valuable insights. Faculty members, Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Ashok Kumar (PTI), Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, Dr. Susheel Kumar, Priya Shjarma, Dr. Neeraj Bargotra and Darpan Malhotra also participated in the event.
