JAMMU: A Special Health Awareness Programme for rural women was organized by YVS Skill Development Centre at Sangrampur Jammu. BJP Senior Leader Jammu-Kashmir & Prabhari Zilla Doda, was the Chief Guest, Dr. Prince Raina was the Guest of Honor and Aneeta Mohan Sharma, Entrepreneur presided over the program.
Pawan Sharma While addressing on the occasion said that the health situation of the people in rural area is vulnerable because of lack of education, public health awareness and regular checkups. This situation leads to a higher prevalence of undiagnosed conditions and a general lack of health management among the rural people.
Pawan Sharma expressed that, YVS Skill Development Centre, Jammu took the welcoming initiative of introducing the General Health Awareness Programme with the aim to educate rural women and make them aware of how to take proper care of their health and hygiene. This programme is focused towards general health awareness of people addressing issues of personal health care, personal hygiene, dental hygiene, menstrual hygiene, vaccination, blood pressure, illness prevention etc.
Pawan Sharma wished to improve the health standard of the residents of rural areas in J&K through this type of medical camps and awareness programmes and requested the individuals, institution and NGOs to conduct more and more health checkup & awareness camps for the wellbeing of the people across J&K. Doctor Prince Raina, leading doctor from Jammu, while giving his lecture through power point presentation advised the rural women folk about their physical condition and ailments.
Dr. Raina further said that, as we all know, âHealth is Wealthâ. But many factors influence people to acquire diseases and certain medical conditions. They need to be educated about health and diseases through awareness programs. They should know what to eat, what not to eat, how to be fit through regular exercise, proper diet and be healthy. Everyone must be aware of required annual screening tests they need to undergo, based on their age, gender and health conditions. All this information should be given to people in rural areas by organizing such awareness camps.
Aneeta Mohan Sharma appreciated the initiative of YVS Skill Development Centre for organizing General Health awareness program in the larger interest of rural women. She further appreciated Dr. Prince Raina for his detailed and informative presentation to the attendees. Avinash Banotra, Center Head while presenting vote of thanks, said that the objective of conducting the general health awareness camp was to create awareness of general health among the rural women and counseling them on basic healthcare and hygiene.
