KATRA: Mr. Varun Sharma, alumnus of the School of Business interacted in online session with management students of School of Business. Proud SoB alumnus, Mr. Varun Sharma 2004-06 MBA batch pass out, is presently working as Head of HR – Rail and Inland Terminals and Bulk Business SCO, Gurgoan. Drawing from his extensive corporate experience, Mr. Sharma spoke about practical issues related to Competency Mapping and Assessment mechanisms implemented in the corporate sector.
He enlightened the management students regarding how organizations identify and build key competencies-both behavioural and functional. He enlightened the students regarding important concepts like the 9-Box Model for mapping performance and potential, and explained how companies design career paths and succession plans around these competencies. He concluded his session highlighting the integration of competency framework with HR framework for getting the desirable benefits.
The session was crammed with real-world examples and practical advice, leaving students with a clearer understanding of what it takes to succeed and grow in today’s corporate world.
