- Appeals for communal harmony in Jammu
JAMMU: Apni Party Spokesperson, and Youth Wing, General Secretary, Abhay Bakaya has appreciated the police for its swift action and arrest of the accused person who was involved in vandalizing a religious place in Nagrota that had triggered protests, and strong condemnation from cross section of society. As per a press release, Abhay expressed his shock over the incident that has triggered protests, and widespread anger among the people from all the sections of society.
He said that âIt appears that the incident was aimed to spark communal tension and destabilize the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu District where people from different faiths live in peace.â
He said that the police acted swiftly and apprehend the accused miscreant who dared to hurt the religious sentiments and urged the police to put him behind the bars under stringent laws.
He sought cooperation from community leaders to come together and jointly ensure that the peace is maintained, and the elements responsible for vandalizing the religious place be arrested by the police.
He also remembered how a similar incident had taken place in Reasi, and accordingly cautioned the authorities against the elements who are bent upon hurting the sentiments with their acts.âThe authorities should act tough against the elements who work with a motive to destabilize the peaceful situation,â he added.
