- Best Districts, Farmers felicitated for outstanding contribution in Animal Husbandry sector
SRINAGAR: A farmers training program under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) was successfully conducted at the Directorate of Animal Husbandry Department Kashmir. The event saw the participation of 280 progressive farmers from various districts, specifically focusing on the Dairy and Poultry sectors.
The program aimed to enhance their skills and understanding of modern practices that can improve productivity and sustainability within their farming operations. During this comprehensive training session, participants were equipped with the latest knowledge and techniques in animal husbandry.
In addition to technical training, farmers were provided with crucial information regarding Employment Generation schemes offered by the Department, including the Holistic Agricultural Development Program (HADP). These schemes are designed to support farmers in accessing resources and opportunities that can lead to increased employment and economic growth within their communities.
The farmers also visited different facilities provided by the department including laboratory evaluation, feed formulation, treatment Clinics etc. The training program was organized by the Publicity Wing of the Animal Husbandry under the guidance and directives of Director Animal Husbandry Department Kashmir, Dr Parvinder Singh Sudan who spoke to the audience through video conference from Jammu.
Director AHD emphasized the importance of continuous education and skill development for farmers. The event also saw the presence of Joint Director Poultry, DrA.A.War, various Deputy Directors and other officials from the department, all dedicated to supporting the local Animal Husbandry Sector.
The trainers Dr S.Arshid and Dr Faazil Rather provided the comprehensive update of Animal Husbandry Sector evaluation, Technology and advancement followed by the exhaustive interactive session. The training concluded with the visit of farmers to different facilities of Animal Husbandry Department Kashmir. Certificates were awarded to some of the best-performing farmers from various districts, highlighting their achievements and encouraging others to strive for excellence.
