BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) on the implementation of the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) today at meeting hall DC office Baramulla.
During the meeting, the General Manager, DIC gave a detailed overview of the PMEGP cases sponsored during 2024-25. It was informed that 541 cases had been returned by financial institutions for various reasons, highlighting the need for immediate corrective action.
Taking note of the pendency, the DC directed the Lead Bank Manager to establish Special Help Desks at every bank branch starting from March 20, 2025, to provide assistance to applicants and to clear pendency. The banks were instructed to offer technical support to these Special Help Desks to ensure smooth processing of cases.
The DC also directed the General Manager, DIC to share a list of all applicants with the respective banks/branches. The Lead Bank Manager, Baramulla was tasked with re-examining all cases that were either rejected or not sanctioned and to clear them in line with government guidelines.
Furthermore, DC directed the General Manager, DIC to share a monthly progress report on PMEGP implementation with all stakeholders to monitor the progress effectively. Minga Sherpa instructed the General Manager, DIC and the Lead Bank Manager, Baramulla to submit an action taken report at the earliest to ensure timely resolution of pending cases.
The meeting was attended by the General Manager, DIC Baramulla, Joint Director Planning, Lead Bank Manager, Baramulla, District Coordinator, State Bank of India, Cluster Head, JKGB Regional Office, Baramulla; District Head, KVIB, District Head, KVIC and Branch Heads of J&K Banks of the district.
