SAMBA: Under directions of Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, J&K, Chief Education Officer Samba in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), started Assessment camp at GMS Smailpur for Children with Special Needs (CWSNs) under the age group of 06 to 18 years of Zone Purmandal on day 3.
The event witnessed a significant turnout, with participation of Zonal Education Planning Officer Purmandal Mohd. Rashid Alam and experts from ALIMCO Kanpur, along with numerous CWSN students, parents, District Coordinator IED, Zonal Coordinators, Special Education Teachers and District Level Samagra Shiksha Team.
Mohd. Rashid Alam, ZEPO Purmandal started the program and engaged in one-to-one interactions with CWSN students and their parents, emphasizing the critical importance of these assessments.
As of today, the camp has successfully assessed and 52 CWSN students of different categories i.e. locomotor impairment, hearing impairment, visually impaired, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities, mental illness, and autism.
Parents expressed their gratitude to the organizers for facilitating this beneficial initiative in district Samba, underscoring the positive impact of such camps on the community.
