AWANTIPORA: The Architecture students from Islamic University of Science and Technology today visited SPS Museum, Lal Mandi and learned about various aspects of history of human settlement, heritage preservation, and the integration of historic architectural practices with traditional building techniques. The students had the opportunity to interact with professionals from the museum, discuss the evolution of the museum and learn about the history of different exhibits as well as do live sketching.
During the visit, students also explored the impact of heritage conservation in the old wing, and how contemporary interventions are being used to maintain a balance between modern needs and cultural preservation. This site-visit aligns with the university's commitment to experiential learning and equipping students with the necessary skills to help in their future professional endeavours. Ms Zoya Khan coordinated the visit.
