GANDERBAL: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a meeting to assess the implementation & progress of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district.

At the outset, the Executive Engineer, KPDCL, delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining the scheme's objectives and benefits. It was informed that 143 applications have been received on the portal, and 39 vendors have been empaneled for the installation of solar setups in the homes of beneficiaries.

Emphasizing the importance of public awareness and participation, the DC directed the Executive Engineer, KPDCL, to actively engage stakeholders and sensitize them about the scheme’s benefits and incentives.

He stressed the need for collaborative efforts to ensure maximum outreach and successful implementation of the scheme across the district. The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer KPDCL, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer KPDCL, AEEs, and other concerned officials.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
