SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma today inaugurated an awareness mela on the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana here in the DC Complex Samba. The event, organized by Electric Sub Division Samba, ED-Vijaypur, aimed to promote rooftop solar installations and spread awareness about the scheme's benefits among local residents.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Singh; ACR , SDM Ghagwal, Chief Planning Officer Samba, Chief Education Officer and Executive Engineer JPDCL Vijaypur, along with other district officers and banking representatives.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the significance of rooftop solar installations and highlighted the various benefits available under the scheme. The DC also emphasized the crucial role of Common Service Centers (CSCs) in facilitating applications.
Executive Engineer, JPDCL ED-Vijaypur, conducted an interactive session addressing public queries regarding the scheme's implementation. He highlighted how the initiative would help reduce monthly electricity bills of consumers and announced plans to organize similar awareness camps across various blocks. The mela witnessed participation from different stakeholders including J&K Bank representatives and CSC operators, making it a comprehensive platform for public engagement.
