BANDIPORA: As per the calendar of Activities for the month of December, 2024, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora in coordination with Tehsil Legal Services Committee Sumbal and in collaboration with Mosaic Skill Center Sumbal Tuesday organized an awareness programme on ‘National Consumer Day’ at Mosaic Skill Center Sumbal. The programme was organized under the chairmanship of Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Bandipora and guidance of Iqbal Akhoon, Secretary DLSA Bandipora.
This year, National Consumer Day 2024 underscores the theme of ‘Empowering Consumers for a Sustainable Future,’ emphasizing the need for informed decision-making and consumer rights in the age of rapidly advancing technologies and global challenges. On the occasion, resource persons Adv. Abid Hussain Malla and Adv. Tasleema Jan delivered lectures on National Consumer Day and highlighted the theme and significance of this day.
They enlightened the audience about the importance of National Consumer Day and emphasized that the rights of the consumers are to be protected and respected, and that all consumers need to have the knowledge and power to protest against the Market Abuses. The programme was attended by Staff Members of DLSA Bandipora, TLSC Sumbal, Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Bandipora and TLSC Sumbal, and students of Mosaic Skill Centre Sumbal.
