JAMMU: Focus on efficient result-oriented Governance rather than terrorizing Government officials, stated Arun Gupta, Spokesperson, J&K BJP. Arun Gupta, Spokesperson, J&K BJP accompanied by Adv. Sunil Sethi, Chief Spokesperson, J&K BJP and YV Sharma, Spokesperson, J&K BJP was addressing the media persons, in a press conference at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Sunil Sethi, while addressing the media, said that in the recent Assembly elections, NC chiefly got mandate from Kashmir, which enabled it to form the government in Jammu & Kashmir. The NC promised the moon to the people of Jammu & Kashmir in its Assembly election manifesto. Now, more than 2 months have gone by after the formation of government in J&K, but the actual governance is being missed even after 2 months. NC has failed on every front in these 2 months, it not taken the call of people aspirations, not it has taken care of people’s core issues but has only focused on the political statements.
Arun Gupta, in his address, said that the Modi government has built J&K from the ashes of devastation and gloom, and asked the NC to either maintain it good or surrender. We won’t let NC spoil the progress made in all this time, he said. Arun Gupta said that for over two-month NC’s focus is on terrorizing government officials of one region rather than prioritizing Good efficient result-oriented Governance. He asked the NC government to first give the target and then monitor it efficiently.
He accused the present government, that it is still working in the pre-2014 era of governance which reflects as zero accountability in the governing system. The CM should understand that all the time politicizing does not work in government. NC must understand that we all need statehood but that does not stop us from performing.
Gupta reminded the CM, that except ‘law and order’ he has got more than 35 departments like Agriculture, Animal husbandry, Co-operative, Consumer affairs, Disaster Management, Education, Estates, Higher Education, Floriculture, Fisheries, Forest, Finance, Food and Civil Supplies, GAD, horticulture, Industry, Labour, Medical and Health, Mining, Power, Public Works, Public Health, Planning, Revenue, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Science and Technology, Tourism, Transport and Tribal in the UT with 20 district, 2 divisions and 247 tehsils.
From 2014 with the change in the governance model the Government of India worked very hard to achieve a place in the top 5 economies from fragile 5 economies and now we are entering in top 3 economies very soon. In J&K, the NC government has started slipping in performance giving way to soft paddling, which in turn results in the growth of separatism again. There is always a difference in Political governance and administrative governance. Administration governance has to undergo RIM (Requirement of People implementing the requirements and then it monitoring)
Gupta said that the Union Government gave a huge package for employment generation for Industries/Services/ Hospitality and the focus of J&K government should be to work hard to generate employment. He advised the J&K government that unwanted comments discourage investors, and that the government should stop these practices. If you cannot start anything of yours then at least carry on with ‘Government of India’ schemes which are completely funded. Nonperformance means deceiving people's mandate. Manifesto needs to be implemented fully, he added and said that when you are in government, politics does not work only performance works.
