JAMMU: Y.V. Sharma, spokesperson of the BJP Jammu & Kashmir, expressed profound sorrow over the passing away of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Reflecting on his legacy, Sharma highlighted Dr. Singh's remarkable contributions to the nation and his steadfast commitment to public service. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his statement, aptly remarked:
"The way Manmohan Singh guided the country for a long time… Whenever our democracy will be mentioned, he will be one of those few esteemed members whose contribution will always be remembered." Sharma explained that Dr Man Mohan Sigh's contributions as Governor RBI, as Finance Minister, and as PM of India will ever be remembered as a pioneer in the field of economic reforms at a critical juncture of the Country.
Sharing his personal experience, Sharma said: "I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Manmohan Singh, and I can confidently say he was one of the most humble and gentle souls I have ever met." Dr. Singh's efforts to advance the peace process and foster development in Jammu and Kashmir were particularly commendable. Mr. Sharma added:
