KUPWARA: The Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department, Kupwara, today flagged-off 38 farmers for a seven-day exposure visit to Jammu, Ludhiana and Kurukshetra under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) scheme. The farmers, specializing in apiculture and mushroom cultivation, embarked on the visit in presence of District Agriculture Officer (Extension) and District Agriculture Officer Inputs, officials, trainers and participants.
This initiative aims to equip farmers with advanced skills and knowledge by exposing them to cutting-edge practices and technologies in apiculture and mushroom production. The visit includes stops at model farms, research centers, and processing units, where farmers will learn about hive management, bee breeding, honey extraction, disease control, compost preparation, spawn production and modern mushroom cultivation techniques. The program will also provide opportunities for interaction with experts, fostering knowledge exchange and networking to enhance agricultural practices in Kupwara.
