- Criticizes BJP & Congress party for exploiting Sikh votes
JAMMU: Pavneet Kour, the contesting candidate for Jammu South of the Apni Party, today paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the Kisan Andolan, during a public meeting. In her speech, she strongly criticized both BJP and Congress for their historical exploitation of the Sikh community as mere vote banks, while failing to address their grievances and provide justice.
"I can never forget the horrific events of 1984, when thousands of innocent Sikhs were massacred, and on the other hand, the sacrifices were also made by our brave farmers during the Kisan Andolan. These tragic events have left a deep scar on our community. Yet, BJP and Congress Party continue to use Sikhs for their political gains, without delivering justice or meeting our demands," Kour stated firmly.
She pledged to fight for the rights of Sikhs, emphasizing the need to make Punjabi an official language. "The Sikh community has been betrayed time and again by these national parties. It's time to stand united and ensure that our voices are heard," Kour added.
Urging the people of Jammu South to reject the false promises of BJP and Congress, Pavneet Kour called for support for the Jammu Kashmir Apni Party, which she believes is committed to real change. "We must honor the shaheeds of 1984 and the Kisan Andolan by ensuring that their sacrifices were not in vain.
She sought justice and true representation for Sikhs. Kour urged the voters to reject the empty promises of these national parties and support genuine change by backing the Jammu Kashmir Apni Party. She reiterated her commitment to making Punjabi an official language and fighting for the rights of the Sikh community.
