SRINAGAR: With the aim to strengthen police public relations, Police in Kulgam facilitated Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings at Police Station DH Pora, Kund, Police Post Navyug Tunnel, Nehama, Mirbazar and at village Shamsipora. The meetings were chaired by respective jurisdictional officers in which respectables of Malpora, Akhran, Mirbazar, DH Pora, Kund Kanchloo, Kraloo, Shamsipora, Tachloo, Qaimoh and other adjacent villages participated who put up various issues of public importance.
Referring to the issues highlighted by the participants, the chairing officers assured that these issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for immediate redressal and added that police will provide its legal support as and when required for the betterment of the society. The chairing officers added that such meetings are conducted to solicit the suggestions and support of people for better policing and would be conducted in future as well.
The participants were stressed to cooperate with Police in maintaining law and order in the area and in identifying anti-national and anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment. Officers also thanked the people for participating in the meeting and providing valuable suggestions. Further, officers also assured the participants that strict action against drug peddlers will be continued in its full pace as per the law. Public cooperation is important in identifying drug peddlers so that police can take curative steps against them.
