SRINAGAR: Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and to take stringent actions against drug peddlers, Police arrested drug peddler in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession. A police party of Police Station Handwara during patrolling at Herpora Handwara apprehended one person identified as Farooq Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Sultan Dar @Jungli resident of Lachipora Handwara. During his search, 08 grams of Brown Sugar like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 11/25 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Handwara and investigation set into motion. We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
