RAMBAN: The District Administration, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, has significantly intensified its efforts to achieve the objectives of Swachhta Pakhwada 2024. The district-wide campaign is being carried out under the themes 'Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam', 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' and 'Swachhata Sangram', focusing on environmental conservation and cleanliness as a tribute to martyrs.

A variety of activities have been organized across all departments and institutions in Ramban, contributing to the district's greener and cleaner future. The Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee Ramban celebrated 'Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam' and 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' by conducting a plantation drive at Government High School, Chanderkote besides carrying out sanitation drives at various locations.

In a tribute to the nation’s heroes, Chief Horticulture Officer Ramban planted a tree under the "Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam" initiative at the Agriculture Complex and Horticulture Department, Ramban.

The Sub-District Hospital Banihal actively participated in Swachhta Pakhwada by organizing a comprehensive mopping and cleaning drive, ensuring a hygienic environment for both patients and staff. Similarly, the Primary Health Center (PHC) Paristan combined cleanliness efforts with a plantation drive under the theme "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam," paying homage to mothers while fostering a cleaner and greener community.

 The Government Degree College (GDC) Batote organized a rally and carried out a Swachhata Drive at the Sanatan Dharma Sabha Temple, Batote, reinforcing the importance of cleanliness in public spaces.  Additionally, GDC Banihal undertook a cleanliness drive, complementing the mopping and cleaning efforts at SDH Banihal.

As part of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada initiative and in  a significant step towards environmental conservation and community engagement, Government. Polytechnic College, Chanderkote successfully conducted a plantation drive   under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, Ek Ped Shahidon Ke Naam’ and more than  100 saplings were planted, each dedicated to a mother or a martyr, symbolizing love, sacrifice, and respect. The event was held in the Polytechnic Chanderkote Complex, with the  enthusiastic participation of  staff members  and students of the institution along with staff  from District Social Forestry Department, Ramban.
