JAMMU: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has accelerated its mission to revive traditional water bodies and natural sources across multiple wards within its jurisdiction.

In a significant step toward strengthening urban water sustainability, JMC Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav today visited water bodies in Ward No. 55- Deeli and Ward No. 68- Ratnu Chak to assess the progress of restoration work.

During the inspection, Dr. Yadav reiterated the importance of conserving age-old water sources, stressing that these natural assets must be protected from encroachment and degradation. He stated that the JMC has initiated a comprehensive plan to redevelop, restore and secure water bodies, ensuring these remain functional and beneficial for the community.   Joint Commissioner (Works), Firdous Ahmed Qazi; Health Officer, Dr. Vinod Sharma; Executive Engineer Division 5, Yasir Bashir Kichloo; along with other senior officers and field staff of the Jammu Municipal Corporation accompanied the Commissioner during the tour.
