JAMMU: Apni Party’s Trade Union President, Ajaz Kazmi has appealed to the Govt to ensure 24/7 electricity, drinking water and quality foodgrains supply across Jammu and Kashmir during Muharram days.

In a statement issued to the press, Kazmi said that the administration in all the districts should ensure that the people are not deprived of basic amenities during the Muharram.

“The power cuts have already affected the life of common masses in Jammu and Kashmir during the heatwave. However, it is expected from the authorities that they would monitor the situation to make needed corrections so that the people get uninterrupted drinking water, and electricity supply,” he said.

He also sought attention of the administration in Jammu and Srinagar to make sure that the cleanliness is maintained, and the drinking water tanks, medical teams with the ambulances, and food item stalls are deployed enroute to the Muharram processions in various areas with adequate security.

He also suggested that the authorities should work in coordination with the organizing committees of the community during the Muharram so that possible problems can be worked out amicably.
