- Stresses safety of public infra, restoration measures
REASI: District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a meeting to review the progress of work on the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra (DAK) Expressway and address issues related to safety of public infrastructure and restoration works along the project corridor.
During the meeting, he reviewed precautionary measures being taken along accidental and landslide-prone stretches between Katra and Domail. He stressed the need for adequate safety arrangements, deployment of sufficient manpower and machinery, and close monitoring of vulnerable locations to ensure the safety of commuters and local residents.
He directed the concerned agencies to ensure timely clearance of natural drains/nallahs and cross-drainage structures to prevent waterlogging and ensure smooth drainage during rainfall. He also reviewed issues pertaining to damage to land, houses and trees caused by earth cutting and movement of heavy machinery during construction of the six-lane expressway.
Kumar Abhishek directed the executing agencies to undertake necessary restoration and remedial measures wherever public or private property has been affected due to construction activities. He reviewed the restoration of the cremation ground (Shamshan Ghat) at village Kandyar and restoration of the school access road and village trench at Miyari. He directed all concerned agencies to ensure close coordination, conduct joint inspections and ensure timely resolution of issues arising during the execution of the expressway project. ADC Rakesh Kumar, ACR Nitin Verma, Project Director NHAI ISH Gupta and other concerned officers were present.
