POONCH: Deputy Commissioner, Poonch today convened a meeting to review the progress of work on the National Highway-144A and address the bottlenecks being faced in the ongoing construction.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner; Collector Land Acquisition (Defence), Poonch/Rajouri; Assistant Commissioner Revenue; Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Surankote and Mendhar; Officer Commanding, 79/58 RCC, GREF; Tehsildars of Haveli, Surankote and Mendhar, besides other concerned officers.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of the ongoing works and took stock of the issues and impediments affecting the timely execution of the project.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agency to expedite the pace of work and ensure completion of all pending construction activities in a time-bound manner. Stressing the importance of NH-144A as a vital road connectivity project, he directed all concerned departments and agencies to maintain close coordination for the timely resolution of issues.
The concerned Tehsildars were specifically directed to take necessary and prompt action for clearing all hindrances relating to their respective jurisdictions. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that all stakeholders must work in close coordination to remove bottlenecks and facilitate the early completion of the prestigious road project in the larger public interest.
