JAMMU: Director Agriculture Jammu Anil Gupta today reviewed the enrolment of farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the Rabi Crop 2025–26. He issued a series of directions aimed at ensuring smooth, timely and maximum coverage of farmers under the scheme.

The Director Agriculture directed insurance companies to work in close coordination with the field functionaries of the Agriculture Department to facilitate effective implementation at the grassroots level.

The insurance company officials were asked to intensify field-level awareness activities to educate farmers about the benefits, procedures and timelines of the scheme.  

The Director Agriculture also instructed Chief Agriculture Officers of the Jammu Division to mobilize field functionaries to extend all necessary assistance to farmers in completing their enrolment, strictly as per the districts wise targets.

The status of claims disbursed to the farmers under Kharif 2025 season was also reviewed, with a focus on ensuring timely settlement and addressing pending issues in coordination with the concerned stakeholders.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director Planning Yaqoob Zargar; State Heads of Bajaj General Insurance and IndusInd General Insurance (Reliance General), In-charge PMFBY Cell (DoAJ) along with senior officers and staff of the department.
