SRINAGAR:  Continuing its drive against social crimes, Police in Ganderbal have arrested 06 gamblers and seized stake money and 02 vehicles. Acting on a reliable information regarding the gambling activities, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Gund under the supervision of SDPO Kangan raided a Hotel at Kullan village after obtaining Search warrant from Executive Magistrate. During search of the hotel, 06 Gamblers were arrested red handed while gambling in the room & Stake money of Rs-98000/- & playing cards recovered from their possession was seized on the spot.

They have been identified as Mohd Amin Bhat son of Gh Qadir Bhat resident of Malshahibagh Ganderbal, Mohd Abdullah Shah son of Ab Kareem Shah resident of Pandach Nagbal, Ab Rashid Ganaie son of Gh Mohd Ganaie and Javaid Ahmad Najar son of Mushtaq Ahmad Najar both residents of Nagbal, Ab Rashid Mir son of Mohd Akbar Mir resident of Busarbugh Shuham & Mohd Yusuf Parray son of Gh Mohd Parray resident of Khalmullah Nagbal. hey have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Moreover, 02 Vehicles bearing Registration No. JK16C-0432 (Alto) & JK01AU- 0179 (Eco Van) were also seized.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Gund and investigation has been initiated. Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
