JAMMU: BJP Jammu & Kashmir State Secretary Pawan Sharma has strongly condemned the reported use of force by Pakistani security forces against peaceful protesters in Pakistan Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK), describing it as a serious violation of human rights and democratic values.

In a statement issued today, Pawan Sharma said that the people of PoJK have long been facing economic hardship, political discrimination, administrative neglect, and denial of their democratic rights. According to various reports, local residents who have been raising their legitimate demands through peaceful protests have allegedly been met with excessive force, including firing by Pakistani security forces, resulting in the loss of innocent lives and injuries to many others.

Sharma stated that any government that attempts to silence the democratic aspirations of its own citizens through intimidation and violence cannot claim to respect the principles of democracy or human rights. He said that the voices of ordinary citizens seeking justice, dignity, employment, basic civic amenities, and equal rights deserve to be heard, not suppressed.

Expressing deep concern over the reported incidents, Sharma said that repeated allegations of repression in PoJK expose the true condition of the people living under Pakistani control. He observed that while Pakistan frequently attempts to lecture the international community on human rights, reports emerging from PoJK present a deeply disturbing picture of restrictions on civil liberties and the use of force against peaceful demonstrators.

Pawan Sharma urged the international community, global human rights organizations, and democratic nations to take serious note of the reported developments in PoJK. He called for an impartial and transparent international investigation into the alleged incidents so that the truth may be established and accountability ensured.

He further said that the aspirations and democratic rights of the people of PoJK must not be ignored. Every individual deserves the freedom to express legitimate concerns without fear of violence or persecution. The protection of innocent civilians must remain the foremost priority of the international community.

Sharma reiterated that India has always upheld the values of democracy, constitutional governance, and respect for human rights. He expressed solidarity with the innocent civilians of PoJK and prayed for peace, justice, and dignity for all those affected by the reported violence.
