AWANTIPORA: As part of the ongoing campaign against drug abuse, J&K Police conducted a joint drive for the destruction of wild cannabis (bhung) at Awantipora and Kawani. The drive was carried out in coordination with the concerned Executive Magistrates, Municipal officials, Excise Department, concerned Lumberdars and local residents. Wild cannabis plants found growing in the respective areas were identified and destroyed.
Police reiterated its commitment to curbing the availability of narcotic substances and promoting a drug-free environment. The public was urged to actively cooperate with the Police and other concerned departments in identifying and eliminating wild cannabis from their areas.
